Diamine Steel Blue is an old favourite of mine that I regularly use to fill my Lamy 2000 fountain pen so I decided I to add my review of it here.
Diamine Steel Blue is a slightly green leaning dark turquoise ink. A very attractive colour.
- Bearing in mind the paper I use is very smooth, and the nib was quite a wet stub, this ink dried quite quickly in 10-12 secs.
- It flows reasonably wet, never feels dry, and lubricates the nib very well.
- It shows some nice shading.
- No problems with start up or skipping.
- The water test on the review form shows this is not a waterproof ink.
- It is currently available in 30ml plastic bottles and 80ml glass bottles.
- Diamine sells it directly to end-users on their web-site and it is easily available in many retail outlets worldwide.
- It’s a reasonable price.
