Ink Review: Diamine Monboddo’s Hat

A purple ink from the standard range, Diamine Monboddo’s Hat was chosen and named by the Fountain Pen UK community on Facebook in a survey co-ordinated by Bernard Gomes.
James Burnet, Lord Monboddo (1714-1799) was a Scottish judge and philosopher who traced the natural history of man, exploring the origins of society and language. He may have worn a purple hat that the colour of this ink is based on.

This ink is an Imperial purple shade that leans very slightly red. It was neither particularly wet nor dry, and it felt smooth and lubricated on my Xerox ColourPrint laser 100gsm paper.

It can sheen faintly golden yellow when writing on smooth papers with pens that have broader, wetter nibs.
